Why has our shared spreadsheet stopped working?
Because a spreadsheet has no idea what is in it. It cannot tell a customer from a date, so it cannot stop somebody typing the wrong thing, cannot keep two sheets agreeing, and cannot tell you who changed what. Once more than a couple of people are typing into the same file, that catches up with you — and being more careful does not fix it, because carefulness is the thing that ran out. PaprPlain takes that same file and builds a workspace where the records know what they are: an order knows whose it is, totals keep themselves right, mistakes are caught as they are typed, and everybody sees only the part that is theirs.
What changes
One place, a record of who changed what, totals that keep themselves right, and a wrong entry refused as it is typed. The team gets a screen, not the file. See it side by side.
